teatran asked: I thought yall would appreciate this - remember how back in the day someone submitted Jim Rash (Community) as the vice principal from Phil of the Future but it was actually J. P. Manoux? In the recent Community episodes, J.P. Manoux played the dopplerdean and when he was being caught, he mentioned that he was a Moby impersonator... Who the cast of How I Met Your Mother thought he was in the episode of The Limo. Not really a spotting, just a giant connection.)
This is a little too complicated to do as a full post but it’s pretty cool, and since we’ve already mentioned the Jim Rash/JP Manoux connection before, here’s a screencap of JP Manoux on HIMYM where he played “Not Moby”.

Thanks, teatran!
“It’s limiting, it’s confining, this is art!”
“There is no freedom, there are no choices, this is art!”
“There is nothing new, there is no innovation, this is art!”
“There are no possibilities, there is no truth, this is art!”
“There is no meaning, there is no point, this is art!”
While this definitely looks and sounds like art, it’s actually Community’s Jim Rash in a unitard, in a box, in an episode of Samantha Who?. And it’s still not weirder than half the costumes he’s worn on Community. He won his Academy Award for this role, right?

Before Enver Gjokaj got Britta’d as Luca in Community, he was Victor, “the distractingly handsome Doll who is called upon to play everyone from Errol Flynn to Robert DeNiro” on the short lived Joss Whedon show Dollhouse.

Eric Christian Olsen is best known as Deeks from NCIS:LA or as Vaughn “Tiny Nipples” Miller on Community, but back in 2001 he was Austin (the cocky blonde guy) in Not Another Teen Movie.

We all know that Leonard Briggs is pretty much the greatest Community character ever. What we don’t all know, however, is that Richard Erdman, the actor who plays Leonard, once appeared on The Dick Van Dyke Show. Cool. Cool cool cool cool cool.
Thanks, killams!
p.s. Don’t forget, Community returns March 15th!

Jeff’s pool teacher in the first season of Community (ep. Physical Education) is played by Blake Clark, aka Shawn’s dad on Boy Meets World. So if you ever wanted to see the bare ass of one of the characters from your childhood, this is your chance!

If you thought one of the winners of tonight’s Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay for his work on The Descendents looked a little familiar (and not just for his smashing impression of Angelina Jolie’s leg)…let us put two-and-two together for you. That is none other than Jim Rash who plays Dean Pelton on NBC’s Community. Streets ahead, Academy voters. Streets ahead.

Community’s Danny Pudi had his very first credited acting role as an intern for the Santos Campaign in a season seven episode of The West Wing.
Great find, bowsic!

Ryan McPartlin’s character Devon Woodcomb (aka Captain Awesome) recently filmed a commercial for the Buy More in Chuck, but apparently he already had commercial experience, appearing in this ’90s commercial for Greendale Community College on Community.

POP POP! It’s a find from across the pond! Luke Youngblood recently took a paintball bomb for the team on NBC’s Community as the enigmatic Magnitude, but back in 2001 and 2002, he attended Hogwarts as Lee Jordan in the first two Harry Potter movies.
Season 3 of Community premieres tonight on NBC, so we’d like to take this time to remind you of ISAFF’s most popular post to date. And don’t forget that you can check out more famous faces from Community by clicking here.

Jim Rash is best recognized for his flamboyant methods of entering and exiting the study room as Dean Pelton on Community, but an eagle-eyed Redditor spotted him in the top left of this photo of the Magician’s Alliance from Arrested Development.

Gillian Jacobs (Community) played a stripper named Cherry Daiquiri in the movie Choke. We’re surprised that Britta Perry, the girl who dressed as a squirrel for Halloween, would allow such objectification!
Great submission, Nikita!

Hit me with a genie’s bottle! Gillian Jacobs is best known as Britta on NBC’s Community, but before she was a student at Greendale Community College, she made an appearance in an early episode of Fringe as Joanne Ostler.
Great submission, asthegullflies!
Danny Pudi can be seen these days as the pop-culture obsessed Abed Nadir on Community, but in 2006 he appeared in 4 episodes of Gilmore Girls as Raj, one of the staff members at the Yale Daily News.
Thanks to everyone who submitted this one!
