1. Emmy Winner Danny Strong will probably always be known best as Jonathan from Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but did you know he had a small role in Pleasantville?
Thanks, 2believeinrocknroll!

  2. Hey, it’s Zooey Deschanel popping up in a late season episode of Frasier. She really got to show off her acting range playing a hipster MPDG who thinks Florence was cool before the Americans found out about it (300 years ago) and snaps Frasier’s square boss Kenny out of a funk by hooking up with him…oh, wait a minute. But hey, she’s blonde in this role!
Thanks, Hal!

  3. Shortly after Freaks & Geeks was cancelled (*sobs*), John Francis Daley made a one episode appearance on The Ellen Show. If you don’t know him from F&G, then you probably know him as Dr. Lance Sweets on Bones. And if you don’t know him from either of those things, then this post probably isn’t worth your time. Sorry!
Thanks, msalysono!

  4. Elizabeth Moss regularly goes toe-to-toe with Jon Hamm as Peggy Olson on Mad Men, but in 1995 she was in Escape to Witch Mountain. This was hardly her first role, though — check her out in this made for TV movie adaptation of Gypsy!

  5. Sierra McCormick is known mostly to a younger generation as Olive on Disney’s show A.N.T Farm but those of us on Tumblr probably know her better for a terrifying two-episode performance as Lilith on Supernatural.

    Thanks, !

  6. This is hitting our Boy Meets World nostalgia bone real hard — before  William Russ played Cory’s dad, he was in Cruising with some serious stubble and luxurious curls.
Thanks, femgarden!

  8. Sam Witwer is probably best known as Aidan, the vampire roommate on the US adaptation of Being Human. But did you know he had a brief cameo in the Jason Statham movie Crank as one of Verona’s henchmen? I bet you didn’t. Hah!

  9. Before she was Joan on Mad Men, Christina Hendricks made an appearance as a bar maid in a flashback scene in an episode of Angel that aired in February of 2000.

  10. OK, I guess Scary Movie 4 was on TV recently or something because two of you submitted this at the exact same time — Beau Mirchoff from MTV’s Awkward played one of the sons in the film. Good for him!

    Thanks,  and !

  11. It often seems like the writers of New Girl never know quite what to do with Winston, which means the character ends up doing a lot of very odd jobs and picks up strange hobbies (that puzzle episode, anyone?) but I’m pretty sure they never actually sent him to another show just so they wouldn’t have to come up with a decent plot for his character. Yeah, I said it. YA BURNT. COME AT ME.
ANYWAY. Here’s Lamorne Morris selling a plasma TV to Frankie on The Middle so she can watch the Royal Wedding. That is so 2011.

  12. Here’s the lovely Michelle Williams (who you might know from Dawson’s Creek or Brokeback Mountain or possibly Lassie) in But I’m a Cheerleader...
I am so excited that someone submitted this because I just watched this movie the other night for the first time and it was great and now I don’t have to go back and screencap it myself. Thanks, youngturk!
