Rob Benedict is best known for playing Chuck (aka the prophet aka God) on Supernatural but that wasn’t his first encounter with otherworldly creatures. He appeared in two episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a vampire named Jape.

Thanks, injectablefame712

Tara’s switching sides! …sort of. Amber Benson, Willow’s witchy girlfriend in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, was also a vampire who refused to feed on humans in a season 2 episode of Supernatural. (She also reappeared in the season 6 episode “Mommy Dearest”.)

Another incredible find from Xia!

Not only was Jewel Staite the adorable Kaylee in Firefly, but she was also an adorable…monster? (and past crush of Sam’s) who’s just trying to help her sick son in a season 7 episode of Supernatural.

Another beautiful and perfect submission from Xia!

Beth Broderick seems to have a knack for playing relatives in supernatural circumstances. Aunt Zelda from Sabrina, the Teenage Witch was also the stepmother of a teenage telekinetic on the rampage in a season 1 episode of Supernatural.

Another winning submission from Xia!

Sebastian Roche sure has a “type” of show. He’s been seen recently as the angel Balthazar (Balthy if your nasty) on Supernatural, original vampire (OV if you’re…gangsta?) Mikael on The Vampire Diaries, or as Thomas Jerome (a shapeshifter) on Fringe, But back in 2005 he appeared as “The Sorcerer” in an episode of Charmed.

Jim Beaver is probably best known for saying things like “Balls!” and “Idjits!” in his role as hunter/father figure Bobby Singer (spoiler alert: RIP) on Supernatural but back in 1998 he appeared as Doug in a few episodes of 3rd Rock From The Sun.

James Patrick Stuart's character on Supernatural serves a purpose (he’s a billionaire businessman who was taken over by the leader of the leviathans) but mostly he’s just there for other characters to make dick jokes because his name is Dick. Get it? Dick. (It’s like a penis!) Anyway, if you’re one of the few people who watched Samantha Who?, you might also recognize him as the casino owner responsible for taking $100,000 from Samantha.

Spotted! Grace Park (Kono Kalakaua on CBS’ Hawaii Five-0 and Boomer/Athena on Battlestar Galactica) as an unnamed X5 in Fox’s Dark Angel, which starred a young Jessica Alba. And yes, standing next to her is Jensen Ackles, better known for his role as Dean Winchester on Supernatural. Awesome!

Thanks to our friend tomhannigers for this one!

Fredric Lehne (sometimes credited as Fredric Lane) has the unforgettably chilling face of Azazel, the yellow-eyed demon who spurred the Winchesters into a lifetime of battling evil on Supernatural, but he was also Marshal Edward Mars, the guy who spurred Kate into years of running away on LOST.

Thanks, smellslikeawesome!

Cindy Sampson is perhaps best known as Lisa Braeden, fiercely protective mother of Ben Braeden, and Dean’s former bendy-yoga-sex partner on Supernatural. She played an almost eerily identical character in a season 1 episode of Being Human US, as a hard-working single mother who will do anything to protect her son from the local supernatural creatures (although she does accidentally let him hang out with a vampire, werewolf, and a ghost, but they’re the good guys so it’s cool). We’re sure Cindy is a lovely woman and she’s a great actress, but how about some range next time?

This is really only a famous face if you’re one of the many Tumblr users in the Supernatural fandom, but it’s cool enough (and we’re big enough Supernatural fans) to justify posting this here. The guy who Dean punches while in prison in Supernatural's season 2 episode, “Folsom Prison Blues”, is Clif Kosterman, Jared and Jensen’s on set bodyguard in real life.

Tricia Helfer is best known her role as the inhuman (but eventually humane) line of Number 6 cylon models on Battlestar Galactica, but in this season 2 episode of Supernatural she played a different sort of inhuman character as a ghost who doesn’t know she’s dead.

Before Keegan Connor Tracy played one of the Winchesters’ biggest fans, Sera Siege, the publisher of the Supernatural books on Supernatural (meta!), she played a fake-barcode-wearing punk on Dark Angel, which co-starred Supernatural's own Jensen Ackles.

Thanks for the submission, whitecloudsbluesky!

Jim Beaver (Supernatural, Deadwood) has worn a lot of hats as an actor, but we hardly recognized him as the sheriff in this season 3 episode of Criminal Minds without his full Bobby Singer beard.

Chad Lindburg and Katharine Isabelle both had prominent roles in Supernatural's second season as Ash and Ava although they never appeared on screen together. Back in 1998, however, the two shared a supernatural experience on screen as high schoolers in an X-Files titled “Schizogeny”, an episode about a killer tree/orchard.

Great submission, redundantinsomniac!
